Frequently asked questions .....

Q. Can anyone get a Truck Friendly sticker?

A. NO. The large 30cm green Truck Friendly stickers are designed to show drivers following that you:-

a. Have a UHF radio fitted and turned on. No UHF – NO Sticker.

b. Have read and understand the driving guides on the Truck Friendly web site.

c. You want to help other drivers.

Unless you tick all the above you do not qualify for a sticker. The last thing we want is a following driver trying to call up a vehicle who does not have a UHF. This will cause frustration, the very thing we are trying to avoid.

You can still be courteous and friendly if you don’t have a UHF radio fitted.

Q. Why are the stickers so big?

A. The 30 cm green stickers are designed to be easily identified and read from a distance by a following vehicle.

The safe following distance on the highway for a truck or car towing a caravan is a min of 110 meters in good weather on good roads. At that distance the stickers need to be large to be noticed.

The stickers may look big holding them in your hand; however, they soon look substantially smaller when placed on the rear of a large van or RV.

Check out the photo on the web site. https://truckfriendly.com.au/join-the-program

Q. Can I get a smaller sticker?

A. Yes. Smaller 12cm stickers will soon be available once suitable sponsors come on board the program. These smaller promotional stickers are designed to stimulate thought about driving habits, stimulate a friendlier attitude to driving and trucks, promote the Truck Friendly program and show the driver is interested in safe driving.

These smaller stickers can be placed on cars, caravans, trucks, shops etc.

They do not replace the larger green stickers that show the driver has a UHF fitted.

Q. Where should I place my sticker?

A. The large green stickers should be placed in the upper rear, driver’s side, of your RV or caravan. By placing all stickers in approximately the same location it makes them much easier to recognise from a distance.

Q. Why are the stickers green and round?

A. The stickers are green and round to make then easily identifiable on the rear of the caravan or RV from a long distance. Many other stickers are rectangular in shape so the round Truck Friendly stickers will be easily recognised while driving.
